You must come, for God is already drawing.
You must believe, for God is already teaching.
You must follow, for God is already leading.
You must receive, for God is already giving.
The story of Redemption is written from Beginning to End. It is finished. God is telling your story. He is the Author of Life. We walk through Life living out this finished story, but we do not walk alone, as it so often feels. We cannot undo Emmanuel; we don’t have that power. The essence of God consists of three separate-yet unified entities living in mutual submission to one another: The Spirit, the Christ, and the Father.
The Spirit is our Guide; our “work” is not to find the right way to go, but to learn to LISTEN to our Guide.
The Christ: the saving revelation of the heart of God…Jesus, is our Friend. Thoughts of restoration and reconciliation are constant the more I realize that Christ always walks with me. It is always true that God is with me. I never feel alone. I hear the words of God in the midst of sorrow and suffering. Many people do; they just don’t know what to call it. He tells us we are His own. I can’t be tempted with any identity other than “child of God.” This fellowship, so sweet and sustaining, is salvation. It saves us from the fear (hell) of isolation. Our “work” in this relationship is not to prove our love for Jesus, but to BELIEVE in the Divine unconditional love always extended to us.
And finally, God the Father. He goes behind and protects us from all enemies- the darkness that only attacks from behind. No one has seen God. No one has had an earthly father that can even begin to minutely compare to what the Fatherhood of God is like. We would be wise to stop comparing God to ANY other human being who has ever lived, except Jesus Christ. If God is like Jesus…that is extremely good news. Our work in this relationship with Father God is that of a child….we don’t need to figure things out; our “work” is to TRUST. We must BELIEVE that we are family with God. This is the only way to trust God. And we are able to trust because God has proven Himself trustworthy. If God is like Jesus, then we can be sure that He is trustworthy and faithful.
We are never expected to initiate anything in this saving relationship with the Divine. If you find that you want to believe, then respond to that desire. If you do not have the desire to believe in God, might I suggest that your innate desire for “good” or “better” in your life is, in fact, a built-in desire for God? Maybe not. But maybe.
Seek. Ask God to open your ears to hear the truth about who you are. You will find that God has already done the work and made the way for you to become holy (whole)
Can you believe it?
When you do, when you receive the love of God, you will find that loving God in return is as easy as blinking. It is a response. Live. Dream. Hope. Seek. Find. Believe. Repeat. The Kingdom is right here. It is yours.
Believe it or not.
